A major breakthrough in tracking systems

Archimedes Tracking Patent
Until now, monitoring cargo or people has required authorized entities to maintain a communications system with a centralized storage database. However, the new Archimedes Tracking Patent represents a revolutionary prototype utilizing a unique patented algorithm and RFID system. As an item moves, the patented algorithm allows an RFID to be updated so that each location, along with other programmable data sets, is collected in a compressed data format. Thus, at any point, the Archimedes Tracking Patent can be accessed by authorized entities to reveal all the collected data elements, such as location and other unique information about the location, without maintaining a database or ongoing communications.

MedicAlert Foundation has given up RFID.

It really is a pity that MedicAlert has moved away from their RFID tag that was developed with Siemens back in 2005. I am sue that had this survived then it could well have formed a pilot for our own NHS service. More...

Looking back at my last entry when I raised the possible problems of Electromagnetic interference caused by RFID perhaps we should consider other uses of the technology and its impact
